Prada store, Omotosando. Tokyo

By pikey
The flagship Prada store in Tokyo by architects Hertzog and De Meuron (of tate gallery fame etc). Was on my 'hitlist' of buildings to photograph on my trip....

Omotosando is the most expensive shopping real estate in the world....clothing companies make a loss on their stores here just to have a market presence. In a battle to grab attention they employ world renound architects to design their stores... this being one of them. I'm pleased with this....the cleanliness and simplicity appeals to me....as always feel free to heap praise or cast asunder . ; )

An unusual building, well photographed. It sort of looks quilted, softening the square shape and diamond windows.

You have mail, btw...
