my life

By Platchet
An old broken door in the backstreets of Marmaris,Turkey revealed far more than I expected. I asked the old man if I could take his picture and he agreed. It felt uncomfortable but he looked proud. It was well worth the 5 Lira he asked for.

Difficult viewing to see the proud man living in such conditions. It's a tough call when faced with these situations whether to ask for permission to take the shot, or to walk on past. There but for the grace of God ......
Glad you did take the image, and gave the chap a few much needed euros for his trouble. Life has an ugly side to it too, and the Photo Journalist has tp portray that as well as the brighter side of life.
As for the image itself, there is a lovely clarity of shot and an immense amount of detail

Very good image as are the others you have taken of this man. He doesn't look at all uncomfortable or stressed.

A great shot. Makes a change from seeing sunsets etc. It brings it home to you how lucky we are.
