There is something about the Variant 2 that is really appealing over the original. Can't put my finger on it though.

However the shadow on the nose in Variant 2 attracts too much attention and needs lightening slightly. IMHO

Dear God man! From your thread I had thought you had pixels glowing all over the place with Noise and bad lighting.

This is a respectable first attempt at a wedding. If the others are similar to this, I do not think your friend will have much to complain about given your not a Pro and it's your first wedding.

    Points observed:
50mm prime is good as is a fast fixed aperture.
Would experiment with using 70-200mm in the church as well. Blow out background wide open and close crops of B&G.
Never shoot in jpg for something this important or your being paid for. RAW every time.
If Noise issues ensure your not deliberately underexposing which augments the noise issue.

    Well done

    Hi Cattyal

That was me I guess. I did wonder where the image had gone to!

Let me know what you think to my mod.

Great capture, natural smile and eyes are sharp. Blown highlights in his hair is distracting though, but still work a vote.

Many thanks for your kind comments. The young lady is the daughter of a work colleague who I did a shoot for recently.

    Keep the C&C coming.

    Hi Andy,

Yes it was. I agree it looks dark and need to get to grips with Levels and Curves to bring out some of the detail!

    Thanks for your advice

"The firm was planning to maintain Head Office and support staff locally in the Haddenham area, as the Haddenham site lease came to an end this spring."

I read that they were moving up North on their website??

So is this the first of the big photo related businesses to go?
