Coast Of Ages

By pmorgan
Another offering from the beautiful Cornish Coast.

As with my previous 6 uploads, this is a non HDR image, a self imposed restriction in which I aim to try and get the best of an image and keep closer to a natural look.

Don't get me wrong, there is a fantastic collection of HDR work out there, it's just that when I look at work I have used it on, I feel that tonally they look flat and lifeless.

This is something that I will add to all future uploads though:

***PLEASE VIEW LARGE (If you have time)***

The reason being that a lot of detail is not evident on the normal view, this goes for almost all uploads on epz. Just for the record, I always look at peoples Large version before commenting or voting, just to check I haven't missed something! Smile

I admire you for returning to the purist route (is that fair to say?) I often wonder if I am compromising on quality to gain the HDR impact, hats off to you sir!

By the way that is a super image.

Think you are being a little overcrittical on yourself Paul.
For me, your HDR work has set standards, however what I subscribe to is, is it really necessary when you can produce images like this without it?

interesting observation - I also feel the same and struggle getting them to look "normal" tonally.

This is a beaut! I really like the rocks and the colours.
