I see too many symmetries: the red poppy directly below the solitary tree, the two tracks leading through the field, the two bunches of trees on each side...throw in the strong colour contrast and it looks to me like an awkward mix of balanced and dynamic elements.
I would have chosen one element (for instance, the contrast between the poppies, the crops and the sky OR the lines leading up to the solitary tree) and allowed that to dominate the scene.
It does look like a gorgeous spot with plenty of potential so I hope you return soon and share the results!

THe idea is good, the poppy is too central and too small. Cheating though it may be, but pick one and hold it at arms length in front of the lens coming in bottom left. Focus on the poppy with the scene less distinct in the background.
