Fanad Head

By PMWilliams
We drove up to Donegal on Sunday for the sunset with the hope of clear skies to capture the meteor shower and then sunrise the following morning, we had sleeping bags for the back of the car and with overcast skies I tried to sleep but the temptation to keep looking out of the window in hope of a clear patch was hard to resist, we did get to see some streaks across the sky but not caught on camera. Still more than happy with the images I did get of the sunset and sunrise Smile

Sleeping rough to achieve your goal - what a trooper!
Stunning result and happy memories for me of a day there with my late husband
I was terrified I'd slip on the rocks!

A very pretty landscape photo Fanad, but the colors are all overboard. Perhaps it is an overdone HDR??

I think the above commentator may never have been to Ireland? Congratulations on the accolades. Well deserved.

Ha Ha, FlowerPower, I went to boarding school with the Christian Brothers of Ireland, worked with General Motors in Scotland and spent numerous holidays in England and Europe.
The "Mull of Kintyre" remains my favorite song with "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling ....." closest to my heart.

But what will British FlowerPower know that on a cold December night in Peterhead Scotland, I walked into an Inn for some Drambuie & Dinner. Veterans were having a Party, and one gentleman walked over to me and asked if I knew English. I said no Sir, I speak Scottish. OMG! the whole party picked me up and sang the "Jolly Good Fellow" for me. It was all On-the-House from there and they dropped me to my Hotel Room past 2.30 in the night.

And I take Free Photo Walks + Photo Tutorials for the underprivileged.

And I did say it was a very pretty Landscape shot - picture postcard quality - but a tad overdone on HDR or post processing.

Thank you for your comment but no hdr and only lifted the shadows and deepened the sky very slightly in lightroom, I used a cpl and 0.9 grad filter, when the light is right, Irish sea turns the most amazing colours with a mix of sand and rock from beneath the water adding to the tropical feel, the picture in the back of my camera is exactly as seen here 😁
