I shot this caterpillar today can anyone let me know what it is? the out of focus fly middle right gives some idea of how big it is.

I don't know much about moths, but isn't it a bit late in the year for caterpillars

In my book it says the adults fly from May - August and the caterpillars are around from July - September. Obviously they overwinter in pupae form. Smile
