Lone Tree Star Trails

By SteveMackay
130 separate 30 second exposures, combined together using the free software startrails.exe.
This is my favourite little tree, it stands in a great place on the North downs in Kent, along with lots of other trees it sits on a ridge in a large sloping field, so I was literally pointing my camera upwards, which cuts out the parallel treeline and road (which you would see if stood on the ridge).
Thanks for looking, cheers!, many thanks for comments on my previous pics Smile

Interesting shot, refreshing to see something a bit different.. Not entirely sure how you did it, was it 130 separate/consecutive shots? must require alot of patience.. Tongue nice result though.

Hi JamJar, cheers for comments, much appreciatedSmile........yes, it was 130 consecutive shots (camera set to manual exposure and 30 seconds, with a lockable cable release the camera just keeps taking the 30 second exposures until you unlock the button on the cable release)....the only patience was hanging around in the dark for all that time lol, cheersGrin

Pulls the viewer deep into your well constructed composition - outstanding work and well worth the time spent planning and taking this image...
