HI! I will be happy to read your comments on the photographs. Pictures are like wine, you might not like the one that I do but none of us is wrong.

I think it is perfect as it is. It is very classy and both of them look relaxed. Good eye contact.
    Good choice processing it.

  • Burning Off the Fog

I think that it is tough to get something good out of the fog. This is an excellent shot.

  • This is a Dictatorship

Thanks Jennnn for commenting on this image. Nothing to worry about, as you can see nobody is fighting against the dictatorship, at least not after lunch break. Wink

  • Approachment

Quote:Clever shot Marian. Does he know him or not.

I think he didn't know her. He turned to look at her as she was approaching the stairs, I was lucky to capture the moment.
    Thank you for commenting Peter!
    Un beso.

Thanks to all for the comments.

Quote:An excellent mono Marian. My first thought was it's the fortune tellers cat. Enter and be told your fortune. Only the cat knows.

Thank you, thank you for the distinction Sandy!!!!! I am grateful for it. I love it when an image stimulates your imagination.

Quote:This is wonderful. The cat is the focal point but the paint trickles and legs are the composition.

I realized that when I got home. He was sitting on the precise spot. I love him, every time I see him I must stop and get a picture.

Quote:Amazing mono with Batman centre stage.
    Welcome back stranger.

This is wonderful Carol! I just recommended your portfolio to a young man that is beginning with insects. I told him you are "una maestra". I am sending you a big hug from Caracas.

Hey Jennn, definitely an excellent original helps a lot! I got this one with a very strong light and looks like my settings were correct. I am very happy with the result. If anyone asks I can upload the color version.
    Thanks commenting sweet Jennn.

For some reason I love blue flowers, maybe it is because we don't have many over here.

Nam-Myoho-Rengue-Kyo, dear Carmen. My Buddhist mantra. I am sure you must know about it being in NYC.
You need lots of energy and you can charge the batteries if you chant this mantra.

Quote:Nicely captured, Marian. It's an interesting concept -- militant angels.

    Hello Walter!
What is really shocking to me is the use of plastic wrap on them. Blush

Quote:Your pov makes her look towards the right, Marian. I would therefore crop more on the left and add a bit more space to the right for her to look into, taking her away from the centre of the frame.
Otherwise there's a feeling of peace and serenity from her relaxed face.

Thanks Malc! I would've never thought of that. I am shortsighted so I don't really see details when shooting at such a distance. I don't have a good image with a larger space on the right. Sad

Quote:What a serene face she has
I think I would have cloned out the black ring
It seems a trifle heavy looking
And that's advice from someone that doesn't believe in playing around with a photo

When I learn LR or PS I will venture on cloning large things like this halo. I am still a Picasa user and only clone out little things, like vultures and cables...Yuck!
Thanks for your comments and votes, I appreciate your input very much so I can improve my photos.
PS: BTW, today (23rd) is my birthday! WinkBlush

  • Miracle Cure

Quote:Would that there was one Marian.

Jose Gregorio Hernandez has many devotees in Venezuela. He was a medical doctor at the beginning of the last century. He would do visits for free to many people and was the first person killed by the only car that there was in Caracas. People say he performs miracles.

  • One for All

Quote:I failed to register a comment here yesterday - maybe I could not devise anything suitable - but I think the comparison between the three boys is wonderful: the boy on the left is trying to look cool, the one in the middle is trying to stay awake, and the one on the right is trying to keep cool!
It's a brilliant candid character-study in excellent b&w, and I am very envious!

Thank you Bill! This UA is really unexpected. I am so glad you found this image worth it of your preference.
I have another picture of the kid in the middle just seconds after gulping the last of the ice cream cone.
They were so bored and probably tired of waiting for their turn to participate in the procession.
