Powerfully organic. This has such enormous abstract strength that even at thumbnail size it still looks good.
In this case the B/W is no use to me... it's all about those rich, warm, earthy tones.

Thanks Eric, it is as powerful as it seems, I didn't even need any sharpening, only a bit of contrast.

Two most impressive organic abstracts Marian. I particularly like the colour version. The assortment of nutty brown hues really adding to the appeal.

I'm with the earthy brown brigade today Marian.
I love those tones and textures.
Your choice of title reminded me of my mother who
was always washing clothes and hanging them out to dry without drying her hands properly,
resulting in chapped hands. It's a word we don't hear much.

Wonderful texture and detail plus colour, so V1 for me as well. I also like the mono version as texture and shades of monochrome.

Sure Kate, that tends to happen to some people (like me) that didn't take cold temperatures seriously. In my case, I got chapped lips the first couple of years living in the American Midwest, which is many times colder than some parts of Canada. I had the advantage of being a vain Venezuelan woman as I always put on some lipstick! Wink

No, I meant really really really really really really really really really really high SPF ( Sun Protection Factor ) Sun Cream!!!!!!
"Chapped" maybe being a bit like sunburn...... but then I suppose it isn't really, so I didn't think that through, did I ...... Oh I'm going home.....
