I like both versions here Marian !! The flowers look a bit like Tibouchina flowers ? Really a lovely image !!

I just uploaded the original picture in color. Herman, I have no idea of the names of most flowers and trees. I spent my most of my life studying and discovered that I love Nature while in Grad School and later when I lived in Montana. Smile

I am glad you liked both shots. I think they are good for different reasons.

Definitely the black-and-white version work better - though I think that a colour version with the leaves burned in would be pretty effective, too.

V1 is my favourite, as the detail is suppressed a little, leaving the shapes and tones, which are lovely.

I'd suggest two tiny tweaks, though, to suppress the highlights bottom right and top centre to avoid distraction and focus even more on the flowers themselves.

Super compo, Marian. I must admit that I love mono versions, especially V1 and they get my UA today.
