I didn't have the chance to give you an UA for your last shot, and since this is sooooo pretty, arty, well lit and composed and of my complete liking, I will give it to you today! Smile

Well arranged image and certainly artistic. As things stand, I prefer the mono V2, which is excellent, as I find the subject stands out better. I do like the colour ov V1 but I find my eye a little distracted by the lighter areas on the leaves behind. I think a little selective burning and desaturation and possibly a little blurring in the BG could enhance this already good image.

I am in the same boat as you Kate, I can't draw either and have to rely on photography to express any artistic leanings I may have, but this is lovely and very artistic.GrinGrinGrin

Well done you Kate for exploiting the software as an outlet for your hidden artist. I can draw and paint but Photoshop is a lot quicker than oil paints I can tell you!

Love the colour version.

This has to be colour, for the sunflowers and also for the green bottles against the white table top.
I like the way you have composed the foreground, the flowers seem to have strong individual characters. From left to right: dramatic, self-important; dejected and weary; imploring.
What doesn't work for me is the bright green in the background foliage, it jumps too far forward. A background needs to be that, to stay well back. So I definitely want to tone down the acid tones in the oof foliage.

Whilst I admire the romanticism and poetise of monochrome, one feels that monochrome does this image no justice. The colour adds and instant lift and provides one with a warm and somewhat comforting composition Kate.

a great trio and patriotic colours, and you are getting very arty.

What a beautiful still life with beautiful colours - the only thing that detracts a little from the overall image is the sweeping long green foliage I'm afraid, looks like a bull's horn. Angela

Excellent piece of work Kate - really like this. Prefer the colour but the mono shows the shadows well.

for me Kate it would have to be V1 with the same comment about the background being a wee bit of a distraction good choice of bottles

Good colours and the perfect colour choice for the bottles. I think all flower images should be in colour so it is V1 for meGrin

The colour version for me by a mile Kate, I think a plain background would have worked better and been less distracting. Next time you try this you could use a groundsheet or bed sheet as a background. Tomcat does that at the coppice when photographing birds and butterflies so that he gets a nice clear background

Golly gosh love this one ,I love yellow and the photography s crystal clear,it's a winner for sure

very nice indeed, a very good comp.
if you pull the bottles more towards you and you use a bigger opening the background will simply disappear into bokeh Smile no nasty highlights. No PS needed, it will be just fine.
