I haven't seen one this colour before but I imagine it would be well camouflaged amongst the grasses at this time of year.

I can never believe the detail you capture with one macro shot
right down to the eyes. I love the red colour.
We have a club member who stacks up to 20 images to get results
like you achieve with that Panasonic Lumix - I must get mine out again
and test it!

Your grasshoppers have some interesting colors....ours are mostly green.

He's a beauty Carol, I got some shots on Monday of a Hopper, may upload them later in the week, not seen one this colour before, I love the way they look like their are wearing a suit of Armour.
