Lone Wolf

By proberts
Just got back from a week in the Boreal forest in a remote part of Finland photographing European Brown Bears. 2 days before coming home, a lone wolf appeared out of the woods and stayed in the area until we left to come home. Extremely rare to see a wolf in this part of Finland so was chuffed to bits to have seen one. It was staying very close to the bears, who were not happy with it being there but were tolerant of it. A wolf is a very social animal and being on its own, probably found comfort and safety being in the company of the bears.

The depth of field works well, showing the Wolf in it's natural habitat. Not the standard composition but it really suits the subject.

Cheers everyone for your likes and comments, all very much appreciated. They seem to think thats what happened to this one Ron, the pack was shot and this lucky one managed to get away. Dont understand why people are so cruel towards wildlife.
