woodcock

By pronature
I managed to crawl up to within 4 metres of this woodcock this week - got soaked in the process but what a privilege to get so close to such a beautiful and shy bird. It never moved a muscle as I approached inch Just relying on camouflage to avoid detection. But it forgot it was in a wet field not a leafy woodland!!

Amazing shot of a great bird. There was one at Titchwell 2 winters running showing well from the path to the car park, best views I've had.

Amazing experience, so reliant on camouflage and a quick flight.
