    You are right wrong aperture and speed of 1/1600.

    I notice you also had exposure compensation perhaps an attempt to get the sky looking better.

    I am not a fan of bracketing shots as I do not like the HDR effect that one gets. Personally having been brought up with film I would use ND filters.

    All in all as a rule I will generally have my camera set to aperture priority usually F8 or F11 (for most lens these are the sharpest) and just check my speed when I meter the scene.

    PS if you use a tripod you can manually bracket shots using any camera. Just do multiple shots adjusting you stops - 1, 0, +1 for example. Providing nothing in the shot is moving it will work fine.

    Nice shot Carsten - great use of the fence in the foreground - diagonal paths in bright light throughout the image work well and the position of the tower and church are perfect - good example of classic composition - Cheers Andy
