RESPECT

By Rach1970
Evening all Smile
A simpler one tonight, to add to my growing collection of graffitti images. Nothing special done to this one except for increasing contrast, decreasing brightness, and 'filling in' the white borders of the writing to make them stand out just a little more.
V2 is straight from camera.
The local youth groups are obviously trying really hard to get messages across to the younger ones - this message you would expect to see in graffitti art. However, 'Eat 5 portions of fruit + veg a day' and 'Learn to Earn' are surprising tags to see sprayed up on a bill board! They're great images I reckon and I might upload those soon too - what do you reckon?
Your comments and criticism are welcomed as always and thanks for taking a look this evening.
Rachel

Excellent - you've isolated the real picture and added strength without losing its own character. I think I'd have allowed a few pixels more above the lettering, but no other difference.
Love the idea of the 'Eat 5 portions' graffiti, can't see it happening up North...

Excellent job you have made of this, Rachel! We have a similar project operating in our little town; they are even linked with urban artists in our French twin town now.

Certainly some of the most colourful graffiti I have seen Rachel.
Could be the local traders putting the fruit and veg up,and not the youths !!!
Nice work.

Very bold colours which I like on V1, but as Moira said needed a little more space above the lettering

I would like to see the treatment applied to version 2 so that the lettering is in context.

I do like the way you have isolated the graffiti part of the image and your PP work on it. I also kind of like v2 for showing the entire scene.
It's nice to see kids making positive statements in their art!

Looking at my mod, I think cropping the top part above the wall, and leaving the leaves would also work well Smile It's easy when you can scroll up to crop it off and then compare.

Thanks very much for your comments Glynnis, Lynne and Anne (and for the mods). I find it interesting to see what others would do - I'm continuing on my steep learning curve Smile
