Mystic River

By Rainy
I took this photo at Bushkill Falls. It is located about three hours west of New York City in the state of Pennsylvania. To get this affect I placed my camera on a tripod to minimize camera shake. I set my shutter speed to stay open for about four seconds. Last but not least I used an eight times neutral density filter to counter act the long shutter speed.

Lovely effect you have captured here, looks slightly different to the 'normal' milky effect you see with long exposures.

WOW! Great control of shutter speed. Nice capture of the Poconos as well. Have you thought of doing a series of this shot. Going out and taking it in January with the snow. It would be beautiful!

My pleasure to grant you your first RCSmile
Nicely exposed, Rainy. I don't use filters apart from a polariser myself, but they do open up a greater range of opportunity for long exposures. Thanks for your comments and click.
