A day of Joy

30 Aug 2016 11:15PM   Views : 735 Unique : 460

Each Tuesday I visit an elderly friend named Joy who moved into a care home last December. She is 97 and still very sharp witted and enjoys a good natter. She is named Joy because she was born on Armistice day 1918 and so she is looking forward to her hundredth birthday. I think I shall make my next personal challenge taking some portraits of her as she may trust me to do a good job of it.

In the meantime I shall show you this portrait just to brighten your day. It was a test shot for my 2x converter and 300mm lens .

Old Gnome tells the cat about how he got a black eye in the hair raising fight he had with one of the flowerpot men.

Taking the plunge

At the recent Clacton Air show the Army parachute display team dropped in. Conditions were bright with a cloudless sky but hazy which made photography tricky as regards focus and exposure. Add to that the distance between the display and myself meant...

One down, two to go?

Went for a walk with the camera today in an Essex countryside village whilst my lovely lady was singing at a birthday party in the village hall. I did not know what the place was like except that there was a pub so all looked fine. My first impress...
