DAY 105 OF 365, CATCHING THE RAYS

16 Apr 2013 12:28AM   Views : 412 Unique : 294

I was on my way to the photo club meeting tonight but had time to stop off at Connaught Water to take some shots of the sunset. The sun was behind a thin blanket of cloud and appeared as a white disc, even so I had to wait for the sun to drop below the horizon in order to get a reasonable exposure.

The talk at the club tonight was given by Martin Johns on the subject of macro photography. His well illustrated and very informative talk was given with great enthusiasm and has inspired a number of us to do more macro work. Martin emphasis was on affordable macro using extension tubes etc with prime and zoom lenses and even lens reversal methods. I have returned the macro lens I borrowed so I will be trying out some of the ideas I learnt tonight and doing some diy set up's so watch this space.
