I should have gone out early today but as you may have guessed I am something of a night owl and early mornings do not come easy. By the time I got myself sorted the early sun was disappearing fast and the rain clouds were building again. Thankfully they were stratocumulus which means showers rather blanket grey and wall to wall rain. I drove into Epping for the Monday market but the car parks were full and the rain had started.
Instead I drove to see my friend Frank who is resting his arthritic ankle that gives him a lot of pain if he takes too much exercise. We chatted for an hour or two about sport, cars, garden birds and cameras, amongst other things.
From there I drove to Abridge to look at the River Roding and saw that it was in spate and flooding the surrounding fields. As always parking to get a picture is difficult and as always I had some one driving close behind me. I drove to Passingford Bridge and then through to Navestock Common. It was on this road that I came across this scene :-
A flooded field.
Tonight I went to the photo club and heard a very entertaining talk by EPZ's very own Lobsterboy on landscape photography, what a great way to round off my day.
