A true English Lion: Tegenaria Duellica.
I cuaght this beasty just before the spider detected the doomed fly in my garage... It’s a macro safari in there! I dub this common british ‘house spider’ a lion because it treats it’s prey in a similar way… killing it before loosing it. The spider gives a quick bite of venom before ripping the fly’s head off.
