right, i have a plan, i have a lot of spare time at the moment so im going to do something with it

im going to learn Photoshop and become at least half decent at it

I've tried so many times and just given up because it totally confuses me but i think im actually going to stick at it this time, at the moment i only have Photoshop elements 4, but im sure i can at least learn some basics...

and plus ive noticed that today's featured article is about Photoshop!

it must be fate..

oh and im 3 pages into harry potter, result lol

I can't get my head round Photoshop either and I only have version 2 ! I can do the basics but that is all..when it comes to layering etc I give up within 5 minutes. My aim is to get to grips with it after this Christmas ! That gives me plenty of time to achieve the right attitude !
Harry Potter is brilliant..I have read all the books twice ! Smile

i gave up on photoshop, all the tutorials varied between versions and it was too confusing, i dowloaded GIMP, recommended on here by pete, its alot easier and everyone has the same version so no confusion!

harry p is the best ive read them all except the last at least 6 times Grin

Good grief ! I thought I was mad to read them twice !
Is it possible to just download GIMP or do you have to pay for it ? Are there filters and effects on it as well ?
This is me being lazy..I could easily just look it up ! Smile

GIMP is free , and as far as i can see there are filters and effects all like photoshop, it takes time to adjust to where everything is but im learning alot easier on it than photoshop, there are tutorials on here as well, a special GIMP section

Good luck with Photoshop it is your friend but it's a beast to get to know, lots to take in but well worth it .... I've used a website called tonnes of video tutorials and well worth a monthly joining on fee....
