This is my 2nd attempt - guess you changed your ideas as to versions!

The disguise this bird has is unbelievable. Never seen anything quite like it, as it looks exactly like a length of fallen timber. How you found it to captured these wonderful images, I can't guess unless it was by sound? Thank you for sharing these superb captures.

Many thanks for all your comments.
The way I track them down is having local knowledge, know your subject,and hours of searching.I only track down the males so not to lead a scent trail to the ground nesting female.
Numbers have been down this year,probably due to two previous wet summers. Found 5 this year compared to 9 last year.I do this as part of survey work for the Forestry Commission, and the N. Trust.
Sad to say they will be off back to Africa in the next few weeks.
