Evening Henge II

By redstag
I wasn't terribly happy with how the stones appeared on yesterday's upload, so trying again with the portrait version, I have also tried to change the sky for added effect and reduced noise!

I got loads of views to clicks yesterday, so if you look at this and don't like it please let me know why as that can only help me get better!

This is a mixture of HDR and single exposure merged together, I will load a copy of the single exposure of the sky.

Thank you for looking.

Stunning image, although the very dark area at the top draws my eye and spoils it a bit for me - I would crop it out.

Unfortunately I can't actually see the image, there seems to be something wrong with the upload, I'm loathe to try again though as you have already left votes and comments!
Anyone else not able to see the image or is it just me?

Highly dramatic and beautiful, what a light! V2 appeals even more!

The processing on v1 is stunning, great work, I do agree with Angi that the darkness at the top does try and draw the eye.

Stunning image. Great processing. I'm undecided about the darkness at the top. I can see the point about it drawing the eye but I think it needs some darkness to balance the light - sitting me fence on (but not in that order).

Thanks all for the comments, I liked the heaviness of the black up top, but think that it is a good point well made about cropping.

Nezih, really pleased you like v2, I added it to show what I have manipulated, but it is such an iconic site that I like the silhouette too.

I voted but didn't comment on these yesterday. I think they look very dramatic and I like the stones with plenty of detail. Excellent work!
I think a crop without the very dark sky at the top would improve it for me.

You couldn't have asked for better light to capture this scene.
Truly iconic.

I love it, a suitably dramatic treatment for the location

V1 is the shot, though I think a crop where the darkness looms would work....only a personal view though..and a terrific image.... I;m in the midst of uploading my stonehenge series, so this ties in nicely!!
