Return of the Ledge end

By redstag
I spent the evening on a sandy beach reading and listening to music, the sky was very clear and I thought that photography perhaps would not be an option. However, as I was returning to salisbury, I changed my mind, turned off at Corfe and headed for Kimmeridge.
I arrived just as the sun disappeared behind the cliffs and Portland Bill. I also bumped into Ian Blanchett (no relation apparently, though I'm sorry to say I did ask!) We had a great chat and I was consolled by the fact that the sunset was no great shakes anyway!
As I was there it seemed rude not to set up and take a couple of shots, they are quite atmospheric and add to my Kimmeridge set.
The title is a little bit tongue in cheek as I renewed my e2 today, so in some ways it marks my return as well as the return to this very popular part of the coast.
I'm intrigued by the new voting device, as it is the first shot I've loaded since it was made available. So please make use of it and don't worry about my very fragile and delicate ego ;(
It was good meeting you Ian, off to check out your recent uploads now, did you make the Durdle Door sunrise?

Jon

Gorgeous - love the low light capture here with the long exposure giving the water a smoothed effect - Nice!

Its always good to see one of your images Jon and this one is no exception. Its a great image and well worth the effort of setting the camera up. The colours and the presentation are fantastic and the sea looks like it goes on forever.
Its also well worth the time to view large. Smile

Amazing sunsets can be very overrated. This is very pleasant in its subtlety and simplicity.
