Can I join you for lunch?

By retec
My second attempt at this shot, I sprayed leaves with a sugar and water solution, then sat back with a brew until the bees arrived in their droves. Nikon 18-55 DX lens, set to manual focus at about 6Ē max zoom, and on camera flash, f 5.6 at 250th. Raw setting. Took 143 shots to get this, good job itís digital and not film. Canít be scared of bees, even had one attacking my flash at one point.

this is fantastic Peter. i'd never have thought of the sugar solution but i suppose its just the same as putting out food for birds.
I'm not comfortable around bees at all so i dont think i'll be having a go myself LoL.
well done.

I was going to say you were very lucky to get two bees both in focus at 5.6, but given the amount of shots you took and of course the fact that you had to have a beer while waiting, then congrats, great shot. Paul

Amazing shot, one to be proud of.
I love your methodology.
Sounds like the number of shots I, too, take to get just that ONE!
