St Hywyn church, Aberdaron, Llyn peninsula. 52° 48’ N. 4° 42’ W.
I’ve taken shots of this church before, but I wanted an after sundown go at it. The light was very tricky because of the reflection off the shore. I used the camera’s spot metering, and took several readings of the church and foreground, and chose an average reading. A strong ND grad filter looked after the sky. In Photoshop I selected and lightened the belfry, as detail had been lost with the grad, and then cloned the sea back around the bell, plus I burnt in the bright shoreline. I then darkened the whole image a touch before sharpening.
