The garden is over-run with spiders at the moment, this was a particularly fat specimen.

This is my first attempt at close up photography, it's not as sharp as I would have hoped, but not bad for a compact camera.

Cropped and adjusted the contast in photoshop

Garden spider, (Araneus diadematus) I think. Nice capture, all the detail and sharp enough. Very well produced. I like the little bit of visible web and the hairy legs...that reminds me, job to do, bye!
