this looks fine to me richard,good control of depth of field. some nice colour as well.its got a nice soft feel too it.

An excellent start to flower photography. You have retained detail throughout the main flower head, and included enough of the main plant in the background to add interest and context. Good exposure and soft lighting too, without any harsh shadows.

Looks fine to me too...even lighting through out makes the image stand out

I went looking for something like this yesterday morning. Was obviously looking in the wrong place!!

Lovely DOF, and colours, cracking first attempt. Seems you don't have a lot to learn!!

I'm finding it's more rewarding doing these kind of photos than landscapes at the moment, but I do have a lot to learn (you should of seen the bin folder!)

An HC isn't bad for your first effort Richard. Well deserved too...A lovely shot, great detail and a well controlled DOF.
