It's a great capture, but for me there isn't enough contrast, the overall effect is quite dark (at least on this PC). For instance, the white wash seems grey to me. I'm not sure the border works either as the black dominates everything else - although maybe this is because the whites aren't white, if that makes sense.

It is a bit dark and low contrast and I dont like the frame, for me it is too thick and distracting. Having said that I do like the subject matter and look forward to any repost.

There is a lack of contrast in the shot itself, as the others have said.
I am unsure of the use of the film edging in this case - it really needs a reason to give it such a treatment.
It is hard to know what you are asking for critique on - the photo of the surfer, the framing technique or the whole image. If it is the latter, there need to be a purpose explained to gauge its success, i.e. it's a shot for an article on surf photography, or similar.

hi ya kyd , yes every one is right about the exposure and contast levels , i was wondering if the frame done it justice as well as i thought being a high speed shot i would see if the frame went with it ??
i have a local surfing website and was thinking of posting a few , but maybe i should try some thing diffrent Smile
thanks for all your comments Smile
regards ricky
