Montgomery Church from Montgomery Castle

By rictac2
Taken last Sunday, a misty, dull day in the Borders, but I thought an interesting light nevertheless.

The contrast between the light on that rock front right and the lack of light on the church is interesting. The dead tree gets in the way a little but there's not a lot you could have done about that. I think possibly a higher viewpoint, cutting out the battlements, would have worked better for me.

I like the church and tree and the overall mood to the picture. The choice of foreround I feel is little too much. Maybe a large rock would have been better.

A lovely misty, moody shot, the rocks in the foreground (nicely out of focus) lead the eye into the shot.
