Ballerina, takes Centre stage

By rikewoo
A common Flag Iris, but I saw an unusual setting and decided it looked like a Ballerina. Standing on the stage about to start her last performance. With her white pantaloons and green boots I saw the Trepak from Tchaikovsky's Nut Cracker Suite .

the image is fine... yet, that loud writeup I am doubtful.. background though black is important too, after all it provides the contrast and enhances the subject..

I'm also not sold on the stark writing - I think it takes away from what is essentially a beautifully photographed flower. And it is beautifully photographed. So much detail, sharpness and richness of colour. If you wanted to keep the writing, and I can see that it does add something poetic to the image, you could think about using a really soft grey colour for the text instead of the harsh white? Visible, but only just - let the viewer work for understanding. That way, the words then become a supporting act for the 'ballerina', and don't detract from her swansong performance ... Grin
