Nicely done Rab...
Think I may have sorted out a few probs with my lighting set up, I've got my mum to make an elasticated terry toweling bed cover fit over my brolly diffuser - call it a soft cover!

Thanks everyone. I'm afraid she's not back in the country Roy. It's an old shot as I'm not doing much non commercial stuff these days.

Regarding the shadow, you could either have it with or without. Bring her forward and light the background is fine but it can look like you cut the model out and pasted them on a clean background. The shadow for me puts her in the photo. For the same reason, I'm not too fond of pure white backgrounds either, a couple of points off white is white enought for me. You pays your money and makes your choice.

A terry towelling soft cover? Whatever gets you the shot you want. I think this shot has the models dress pulled tight at the back and bulldog clipped to keep it in place and make the dress more figure hugging. It might look silly if she goes out to a restaurant but it gets the picture I wanted.

I thought this was Sigourney Weaver at first! The model's face looks very similar. Classy.

I look like Sigourney Weaver?? Thanks Fjordian, she's one of my favourite actresses! Smile

No bulldog clips on this one, this dress finally looked good on me after owning it for 5 years! Thanks Rab, you know how to make me look good!

Can you believe we've been back over a year already?!

i love this. it's a great pose. she looks a bit like sigourney weaver in this i think.

(i think it's tacky to bring up my stuff on your picture, but you don't have an email listed, i just have to say i do appreciate your essay on the picture a week or so back, and it was helpful as always - i was just feeling kind of discouraged.)

For me it hints of Milton Greene's Diertich's shots.
