Thank you for the comments, votes and HC, I'm very pleased Smile

I see you remember this then Phil !! Jan 08 this was, I wandered off and shot these horses while you, Geoff and Andrew were doing your landscape stuff.
I'm going through my old files to clear some off the computer to make room ...found a few good 'uns too!
My processing technique is difficult to explain because it isn't a set method, it's a lot of trial and error. Generally it involves adding layers, adding gaussian blur, changing blending mode to soft light, playing about with opacity, erasing any bits that don't look right, flattening image then going through the process again until it look OK. Then I've been adding another layer of grads to give a slight vignette and add emphasis to the subject.
Bit hit and miss though, I'm never sure when I've got it right, very easy to overdo.

Stupendous, Rob, and worthy indeed of its HC. The light on the larger horse's flank is a fine element in itself. I wish in a way the second horse was standing clear of the first, but you can't have everything!

Thank you Ian Smile
Yes, it would be good if the second horse had a bit of seperation also I think it would be better if the fence wasn't there but typically for me, I realise these things after the shoot when it's too late!

The processing is an enjoyable element for me so although it is time consuming, it's not a problem. All images need different amounts of processing too, some hardly any.

This is a super image, I was a bit torn, because your Highland cow is superb too, but I plumped for this one, there is something very special about it.
