  • Pasta and Smoked Salmon Salad

Thanks Tanya. It's something of a busman's holiday shot for me, but when I made the salad it looked too good not to shoot and it wasn't as if it was going to get cold(er) Grin

  • Oblivion

    Thank you. Smile

  • FALLEN i

I like this, although I'd have ended up calling it something like 'i-Spy' Smile

  • New Shoes

It's a well-detailed shot, but it's not well lit - unless you wanted all of that shaded fall-off in the background. In which case, 'yay - you did it'. It just looks untidy or a bit lazy, as though you were shooting footwear because you had new shoes, not because you wanted to take a photograph. Nice shoes, at least.

  • Jellybiza

Well, I had these jelly belly beans and some tissue paper left over from a shoot .... The rest is really warped mentality Smile

  • Veiled Nude

This is beautifully exposed and processed, but there's an element of 'tightness' in the composition that jars a little.

  • Mussel Building

You missed 'composition, lighting, artistry and genius' Bill, but I'll forgive you Wink

  • Hoisin Duck Breast with Spicy Stir Fry

Yesterday Smile I shot it for my recipe book. Thanks.
    • 5 Mar 2013 9:52PM
  • Rib Beef with Puy Lentils and Rocket

Thanks Ali. Since my food stylist moved to Spain I've had to do most of it myself on small jobs. I'm glad she had the patience to teach me (and that I put in the effort to learn a new skill).

  • Short-eared Owl

I don't shoot wildlife these days, but I know how much work goes into realising images like this. It's superb.

  • Old and New Traditions

Thanks. Of course you have to be 'of a certain age' to get the reference Smile

  • Bark!

Thank you both. These are certainly the trickiest to get, even after years of preparation Smile

  • Chloe

Chloe hates having her photograph taken, which makes this a rare one.

    Thanks Matt.

Nice of you to say so. Thanks.

  • Wing It

Thanks. I don't normally touch wildlife, but when you're at the coast .....

  • Sunset Of The Age

Nice. I only live 25 mins away and I've never shot it. There's some irony there somewhere.
    • 23 Apr 2012 10:31PM
  • The Watcher

    Thanks both.

There's a lot of hard-wired behaviour in pedigrees. The first time Max saw a deer on television he was about four months old and his reaction was to point, tail straight out and one front paw raised. That said, the first time he saw a pony in the flesh he did the same thing, so his species recognition isn't all it could be Smile

  • One Good Tern Deserves Another

Thanks for commenting. It was very overcast with occasional flickers of sunlight from the west. Waiting paid off. Smile

    Thank you.

Thank you. Sometimes it's good to look down Smile

  • errrr.......again

You obviously talk a lot and feel a little hoarse in the morning. Perhaps I should acquire a similar mask - it looks better than I do too.
    • 30 Oct 2011 9:48PM
  • Madame Bink

Great lighting on her, but I don't like the fall-off of light in the top corners. Still a very good shot.

  • A day in the beach

She smells old sea-going shells by the seashore?

    Nice work.

  • White bike in london

It looks a lot better than Boris's efforts. Great capture for the lights alone.

  • Gherkin

A lot of people use this passageway as a photographic viewpoint for 30 St Mary Axe, but usually manage to get it in focus. You seem to have erroneously focused on a turquoise 'twist and go'. Anyone viewing this would think you were trying to emphasise the importance of economical transport and the relative unimportance of Swiss Re to the man in the street. I'm sure that wasn't your intention and you'll just have to go back and take it all over again Wink

  • Toodle-uma-luma

Thanks Isabel. It had been very windy, but I find this type of 'discard' deplorable, as you can probably tell.

  • Snow Dog Millionaire

Works for me - happy dog, great shot. Gil is none too good in snow because his arthritis claws his claws, as it were (they cramp).

  • Cake with no name

Thanks. Unfortunately it looks better than it tastes. The cake part is good, but I need to rebalance the fruit element as it's a little too sour. Such is experimentationWink
