Chris Haird

Chris HairdReally like the image and what you've done with it, you've definately captured the essence of the speed and acceleration. My only negative would be that it looks a bit strange without a driver visible. Not sure if this is because he is sat really far back in the car or whether it's been lost with the PS work?

Harrier 2

Harrier 2Lovely photo of a Naval Strike Wing jet, hope you didn't have to wait too long on the mountainside!

I really like the fact that you've given the aircraft space in the frame to 'fly' into and the sharpness of detail is incredible.

Thanks for posting.

light fantastic

light fantasticWow, what an odd image. My eyes were fixed by the abstract patterns made by the red and then suddenly flicked to show that the dark areas were clothes! Even the clues in the text didn't help initially. Smile

The ghosting caused by the clothes getting further from the awning also adds a different element to the picture, I like the way that the definition changes from blurred to sharp along with the colours.

I'm glad you put a black frame round it, anything else and the image would not have had the same impact. The only thing I might have done, as mentioned above, would be to crop it slightly at left and right, but it's not essential.

Thanks for posting, it sets the bar high from the start for the rest of us!

Being Watched

Being WatchedSorry for the late response, work getting in the way again!

I love the vibrancy in the photo with the colour of Chips and the tank Scenery. However, it did distract me from seeing Jay in the background - it took me 3 looks to see him, even after reading the other comments. Will go and get my eyes testedSmile

I'd say the lighting worked well, i've had real difficulty avoiding reflections from the glass whilst trying similar shots. I agree with Jeanie that the dots are a bit distracting, cloning them out is prob the only option.

Overall the shot shows your pets being themselves, the interaction between them is captured well. I guess that Jay does this a lot, but Chips isn't too worried? Thanks for posting.

StrathavenA really clear picture that brings out the detail in the buildings, as if the rain has just passed and the sun breaking through. Was this actually the case or has the contrast been slightly tweaked?

I find that my eye is drawn to the orange building at the centre before moving up to the spire and out to the horizon, although I find the flower beds/grass on the left distracting.

I quite like the sky which to my mind balances the brightness of the grass in the foreground.

Up and Down the Royal Mile

Up and Down the Royal MileReally busy pictures that highlight the hustle and bustle of the place. It also shows off the slope of the hill, many pics I have seen tend to flatten the slope out. I like the fact the photo was taken during the Festival, the extra flags add a real splash of colour to what can be a drab scene at certain time of the year.

As Goggz suggested, I think I would crop out the traffic lights in V1 and V2, although this would also take out the dayglo police at the bottom.

Overall a good couple of photos showing the 'real' Edinburgh.
