Kirkstone Pass

By robporter
The rain was driving horizontally into my back, and the cloud base was just above my head, but down below in the valley there was a patch of light on Brother's Water. My trusty Tesco carrier bag kept my camera dry until the last minute.

These seemed to work best in black and white. The colours are too muted and grey.

F22, 3 secs, Sigma 10-20mm at 15mm, no filters. Converted to black and white with Hue/Sat and Channel mixer layers.

Comments good and bad welcome.

Thanks for stopping by.

Rob.

Worth the suffering for this wonderful image. The black and white works to invoke the impression of the weather as it was, and the composition is great.

Really great shot, fantastic composition and I love that eerie mist at the top of the shot.
Not normally a fan of borders and all that but this seems to suit nicely.
Great work!
