Stockghyll Force

By robporter
Another day of rain in The Lakes saw me lugging my gear the short distance from Ambleside to Stockghyll Force. A fairly standard shot of the waterfall, but I wanted one with the surrounding leaves of Autumn, and I think I was there about the right time.

F22, 2 secs, 24-70mm L @ 50mm

Was it worth getting soaking wet for? Smile

Wonderful shot and worth humping the gear, though as you say...it's only a stones throw out of Ambleside

Love the colours and it does work but personaly I would have liked to have seen less movement in the water, just a personal thought

I like the way the water has an almost 3D abstract quality, and the colours are superb.

Thanks for your comments.

Petra - I was after an almost fairytale feel to the scene, hence the long exposure for the water.

Brilliant capture Rob. I love the contrast between the water and the rocks / rustic colours of autumn. Great work.
