St Catherine's Old Church

By robs
This is all that remains of St Catherine's Church (the original) above Crook in the South Lakes. The church itself was built around 1620 but fell into poor repair and was dismanteld in 1887 with only the tower left as a monument to the original (the new church is visible down the hill a little way in the distance)...I have photographed the old tower before, but it is one of those sites that I don't get to very often, and that really warrents further future trips!

It was a good excuse to break in the E-M5 II and 12mm f2.0 combination though! I am just looking forward to Lightroom catching up with the file formats!

I couldn't add the Camera Model - it is an OM-D E-M5 Mk II.

Just breaking it in, absolutely lovely bit of kit, but the Olympus RAW software is horrible. Can't wait for Lightroom to get up to speed!

Lovely photo and great subject, the clouds really add a nice sense of drama...........I wonder how a B & W version would look? ..........Compliments! .........Alf

It is a good location - I have this idea in my head for a version I want to shoot... just need everything to fall into place some day!
