Waiting

By RockArea
I'm not sure what people might make of this one as it doesn't do much as a thumbnail. It was taken at the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton a couple of weeks back.

Thanks for your attention, your comments are always appreciated.

Before I read your description I thought this was the car at the Dalí museum in Figueras, see here. It has the same surreal feeling of suspended animation. I like the mystery.
I also like it when people step out of their comfort zone.

A proper car! Not like all these modern ones, these had some character. Works well in mono, nice shot, David.

This reminds me of an old b/w spy movie. Is he waiting for an assignation, is he a spy or assassin? I really like this new departure.

There's pinch of film noir in it. I really like it.

There's a disturbing hint of deep red in the b&w (or maybe that's my eyesight), and a face in the back of the head (ditto). Anyway, one of the most unusual and effective images I've seen for ages.

Thanks for your comments. I can't remember if I laid the mono over the colour image and dropped the opacity.

Good sense of drama created here David, like something from The Third Man. Well done on the GEA.

Oh, that's very nice and much appreciated, Moira! I've just got back from a few days in London visiting a friend in hospital so it's great to come back to this honour.

Thank you very much
