I'm still trying to take decent portraits. Please let me have your thoughts on this.

I like the shot very much, especially the natural lighting and crop.

I like the shot a lot. The natural lighting, the sharp eyes with the great catchlight, the way the hair fills the corners all add up up to a good picture.

On the technical side, and these are only minor considerations to tweak an already good image, you might burn in a little on the side of the nose as the highlight is just starting to lose detail. The shadow on the bridge of the nose and left eye is a little distracting; some light dodging could help that.

A lovely natural portrait, I like the soft tones.

Pete, Michael and George - thank you all for your comments. Thanks for the technical tips Mike. It's strange, I hadn't noticed the shadow until you mentioned it. I'll play around with it some more. Thanks again.

I'm by no means a good portrait photographer but I really like this shot. I think the detail is good, I like the crop and the model looks natural and relaxed. Click from me.

I like it Rod - my only thought's are those which I would give to myself - the light is coming more from below than above which gives it a slightly unnatural/unusual feel - the long shadow thrown by the nose I would work against - do you have some reflector to the models left? - the lighting is nice and gentle

It's a pleasant shot of a pleasant person Smile

Stewart, Dave and Richard - thank you for your comments.

Dave - I did use a relector to the left but I see what you mean about the shadow. It's amazing how I don't see these things but that's why these comments are so useful - thanks again.

I like the work on this, would have prefered the light a shade softer but well worth experimenting further.
