Is it him?...

By rogerfry
Anyone who watched "Africa 2013 - Countdown To The Rains" on BBC 2 last Sunday -(second instalment tonight)- may recall the young elephant whose trunk had been chopped right down -( possibly by a crocodile, or maybe a snare).

Looking through my elephant photographs, I've found these shots which are either him, or another youngster who has suffered a similar fate. In V1 it's the tiny figure on the extreme left of the picture. V2 is a much clearer shot of the damage, and I've added a 100% crop as V3, which to my mind shows that nature has given a helping hand by forming a working tip to what's left......maybe wishful thinking on my part?

**After watching tonight's programme, it's obvious this is a different elephant, so there are at least two of them.**

Poor little thing....hopefully it will adapt and survive..a without a trunk it must be difficult to drink and break branches....

Do we know whether it was filmed this year Roger? If it was last, he will have changed over the last year...
