I'm just drinking this one in at the moment ...

I guess that, for me, your title hints at those who walk between times - neither dead nor alive - but forever walking the gaps in time. The skull at the base of the tree, combined with the latern hanging from it, also suggest that balance but also offer a hint of respite from the endless walking (the warmth of the light, even though the image itself is black and white - it's what the lantern represents). The skull then gives the impression that even in death there is life, of a kind.

That's my interpretation of your image anyway Grin

I can understand why you did it in monochrome, but I would also have loved to have seen a bit more contrast in the black and white. It's very shades of grey and although this contributes to the feeling of image, I want to see a few more definite blacks in it. Do you have a colour version at all, or did you make the choice on B&W from the start?

I think this would also work very well with just a hint of colour in the lantern, signifying a respite from the cold, greyness of walking the roads between worlds Smile

Irrespective of what I'd like to see in it, I absolutely love it as it stands.

I've only just realised that you'd put this image up for critique on Friday ... I hadn't seen that version so my thoughts above are based on not having seen the comments on the first one, or people's mods either!! Grin

oh dear! oh dear!

It has everything.. very brilliant job, very original, very beautiful, very poetic and a bit of darkness as well..
I loved the fact that someone realized the potential in a beauty, brought her to a meadow and did what best could be done..
Remarkable stuff..

Sorry for putting a downer on this one but the light seems to come from the horizon which would
render the model and the tree into darkness causing a silhoutte.
There needs to be more light emitting from the lantern causing parts of the tree to be illuminated.
Overall it looks grey and washed out on my screen but congrats on your award.

all the best Clint
All I can say is WOW. Its perfect. Well done and keep sharing buddy.

Is your invitation for write up still on? I have always loved writing, and have written for this. Any Feedback will be appreciated Smile

Picking up her Gossamer, she rushed into the field,
Crying to the contemplation of her efforts that didn't yield,
She looked at the Casuarina, the epitome that stood beside,
Behind the memories and all his words, that the trunk couldn't hide,
That faint glow of the lantern, that fell upon her face,
Brought out all his light and the warmth of his embrace,
It hadn't happened or maybe conscience wasn't prepared,
Accepting he was gone, was more than she could have dared,
She looked at her Casuarina, as tears welled up in her,
But all she could do was pass him away in a blur,
Beneath the shade of it, she had read to him all day,
Stroking through the softness in him, as in her arms he lay,
The very same branches had been witness to their love,
The saying of their vows, as the leaves fell from above,
Now that he was gone, even the leaves seemed to have trailed away,
Swayed away in the search of him, to bring him back in every way,
Little did they know, that he was beyond the clouds that hovered,
Back into that incessant world, from which an angel he was lowered.

Sensational capture and has quite a story to tell Wink

The tree looks like a serpent. I just think it just a bit too dark at the edges.
