"Amethyst Deceiver"

By RonnieAG
Back after a break (at Center Parcs, Whinfell Forest with grandchildren) and with a shot of the Amethyst Deceivers (Laccaria Amethystina) from Pollok Country Park........these mauve mushrooms are less than 2 inches high........and being under the dark forest canopy are rather difficult to spot. Needed fill-in flash to get a decent shot and with camera resting on the leaf litter.

My thanks to all who commented on Sulphur Tufts and with special thanks to Bob {bobpaige1} and Dave {HobbitDave} for their User Awards.

Glad to have you back with us after your break Ronnie.

Great point of view, and a very well observed and captured image of this quite stunning specimen with the most gorgeous of colouring.

Thanks for sharing

you just have to love the colour Ronnie, good have you back after the ''break''. The fill in flash has worked so well causing no flash spots at all. The shroom in question is edible but only the caps as the stocks are too tough so I'm told. The distant shrooms add a nice balance.

A triumph of camera work and nature - fabulous colour - surprised to learn from Graham that the caps are edible - they look poisonous! Brilliant close up Ronnie - those limbs must be very supple.

I hope you are well refreshed after you break, Ronnie.
The detail and clarity are stunning - the low POV making them look much larger than they really are.

A cosy pair of deceivers, Ronnie, very nicely isolated by the flash.

One of my favourite species beautifully captured here.

I see that you are dutifully complying with 'The Rules' by including a third specimen in the background.
