Lioness Pair

These two Lionesses were sheltering out of the heat. Taken in Rhuaha Nat pk, they and the rest of the pride were guarding a Elephant. It was likely that it had killed for it's tusks, although there are prides whom specialize in this size prey. This feast was going to keep them fed well for some time.

Great close up, wonderful light......very sad, but a fact of life to read about the elephant though.

I don't think that they'll ever be able to stamp out ivory poaching, more's the pity Sad
