You can never get tired of a sight like this in the valleys. How many feet tramped the path on the way to work in the dark cold mornings? How many eyes were closed with sleep on the way home, following in the footsteps of their workmates? A hard life in the mines on Snowdonia's mountains, now tramped by climbers & walkers and a hoard of photographers.
A marvellous place and well caught Ron.

Well composed and excellent Ron.

Not been there myself which is pretty sad as I live in Wales!

This is superb Ron. The buildings created from the land that they stand on, and now being reclaimed by it. Portrait works so well, the eye moves up and down the frame, nothing distracts from the narrative.

Excellent perspective Ron, and the lack of sky strengthens the sombre mood.

It's real Ron. I could step right into the frame - captured as is, and beautifully so. Award well deserved Smile

Anne's put it perfectly. I'm getting a bit bored with glossy, shimmery, idealised landscapes. This is bleak and gritty. It's the truth.

This captures the outstanding beauty that I love wales for. Great photo Ron.
Best regards
The poor sods who walked and climbed up and down here week after week, through hail rain and shine to produce the roof slates for millions of homes would I'm sure be touched that you go this award for them Ron.
A trip to the mountains of Wales is a walk back in history and you can only wonder at the courage and strength of the Welsh Nation.

Great to see it as it is, rugged and fascinating, rather than the chocolate box that is so often shown. Exceptional!
