windswept mountain

By rontear
Probably one of our best days in the hills. A drive in fog , reach Brecon in snow and climb Pen Y Fan in whiteout. The Canon on this occasion packed up, the Olympus was the back up.A day that will live with us forever.

A really fine image, the figures work well against the defining light. Grand tones and detail, very moody.

All the very best

Just to show the rule of thirds isn't carved in stone .. the central composition works wonderfully here, with the split of light and dark working well on either side. I presumed this was not in the UK but it surprises and inspires me to find it is. Beautiful image Ron. regards, Paul.

Wonderful image - really like the play of light and shadow, the contours in the landscape, the silhouetted figures which provide a sense of scale, the pleasing mono tones and the narrow format ... well done!

Beautiful image Ron .. brooding & powerful, with the mountain disappearing into the darkness and the immense scale demonstrated by the tiny figures - difficult to imagine this was taken in the UK. Regards, Paul.

This image has just been used to celebrate Range Rover's 60th anniversary. It's in a book entitled " Portraits of Adventure " and an exhibition in the Royal Geographical Society at Kensington Gore. I am amongst world class photographers such as Frans Lanting, George Rodgers just to name two ! A privilage to say the least. Ron.

Hi ROn,

Wow! Two of the hardest things to convey in two dimensions are wind and cold but this image imparts both admirably. So much mood and drama.
