Finding Memories #9

By rosie42
~ Jimmy ~

Jimmy is Bill’s well-travelled friend. Originally from Scotland, he played soccer competitively all around the world, whilst national army service in the military police took him to England and the Suez Canal. He then moved to play soccer for Hong Kong, where he also worked in the police force there.

Jimmy travelled to Hobart in 1957 and met his wife Pauline just two days later at the once popular Belvedere dance hall in Argyle Street. He has lived on every continent, bar America. He loves the lifestyle Hobart offers and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

~~~
This series features people who have made Tasmania their home since moving from far flung places, each a stranger to me until the day we met to make the images. Each shared with me an amazing life story and it's been an absolute pleasure to spend time listening to their memories, some of which accompany the images here.
hey Susie :o)
nice close up to compliment the existing environmental shot of Jimmy :o)
i really like the engagement he shows in this image.
Well done for getting around the whole natural light and spectacles issue, which is not always easy to avoid!
i like the composition too, not central, not obviously off centre...
As usual the tones are lovely, the texture in his shirt is amazing.
A really consistent series Susie, congratulations! ads :o)
