Think this might be my favourite.
I would have been tempted to clone out the grey thing in the bottom right hand corner.

Very grateful for your comments - thank you Kris, Mavis and Will.

Alas Mavis, regrettably I don't have pelicans at my fingertips, which I guess is why I made so many images of them when I was in Port Stephens on the New South Wales' central coast for a few days R&R recently ... I love them (as you've probably noticed!) but sadly don't see any around the coast where I live.

Will ... you tell me; I trust you'll recognise him when you see him? Stay tuned and keep me "posted". ;o)

You've really caught that gentleness with this shot..very very nice.

Slightly broader DOF to keep both birds in focus would have made it perfect for me.

Hi Susie. Firstly thanks for stopping by and spending time looking at my pf. I, like you, also prefer constructive comments to just a click. However, it is a joy to watch the ticker increment Wink.

As I opened your pf, this image immediately caught my attention. I like the composition / crop as well as the colours. I also appreciate the patience you have to get these snaps of the pelicans. Not the most co-operative creatives (South African ones anyway). As soon as they see me reach for my camera, away they zoot, backs to me. Drop the camera and they turn and come closer... Terribly frustrating.

Hi Susie, thought I'd stop by after your visit to my pf. I like this one of Zaphod the two headed pelican (google it if you're not sure what I'm on about Wink ) as it immediately makes me smile. The tall and narrow crop works well to accentuate the composition.
